Recognizing Heritage in Calgary Communities

Since 1992, Heritage Calgary (formerly the CHA) and previous City heritage organizations have been placing plaques to recognize important heritage sites and allow Calgarians to learn about our heritage resources.

The plaque program is open to sites and properties that are listed on the Inventory of Evaluated Historic Resources.

Application

Thank you for your interest in obtaining a Heritage Calgary plaque.

Heritage Calgary plaques are made of a durable tile material and are easy to install with simple tools. We offer two types of plaques: an interpretive plaque which includes a picture and text, and a commemorative plaque that honours a site listed on the Inventory which has been demolished.

The cost of an interpretive plaque is $500.00.

The cost of a commemorative plaque is $2,500.

A signed Agreement and 100% payment is required to guarantee writing, manufacturing, and delivery.

Plaques are 9 ¾” x 13 ¾” and are available in portrait or landscape layout and installation hardware is included.

Please complete form at the link below to submit your request to Heritage Calgary. One of our team members will be in touch to confirm details and finalize your request.
