On June 25, 2021 the Heritage Calgary board approved the following site to be updated to the Inventory of Evaluated Historic Resources.

Evaluated as a City-Wide Historic Resource

The Garden Residence is a significant example of Arts and Crafts-style residential architecture in Calgary. (Style Value: City-wide significance)

The house is also valued for its association with its builder and first owner, James Garden (1881-1945), an esteemed Calgary builder, developer, and civic leader. (Person Value: City-wide significance)
