On April 1, 2021 the Heritage Calgary board approved the following site to be updated to the Inventory of Evaluated Historic Resources.

Re-evaluated as a City Wide Historic Resource

As the last surviving ranch house of a notable pioneer ranch family, Riley Lodge is also valued as a symbol of the development of ranching in northwest Calgary from 1888, associated with the Riley family operations (Activity Value - City Wide Significance).

The historic ranch house is also valued for its highly publicized move and restoration to accommodate Crowchild TR widening in 1987 (Event Value - Community Wide Significance).

Riley Lodge has significance as a legacy of the Riley family, early city-builders who were important in the development of northwest Calgary (Person Value - City Wide Significance).

Riley Lodge, designed by architect Leo Dowler, possesses style value as a stately Edwardian interpretation of the Queen Anne style (Style Value – City Wide Significance).
