Rideau Towers, completed in 1955, has high style value as an exquisitely designed International-style multi-residential tower complex (Style Value – City Wide Significance).

Rideau Towers is further significant for its construction value as the earliest and largest building to utilize a suspended lift slab technology in Calgary (Construction Value – City Wide Significance).

Rideau Towers also has symbolic value as an icon of the shift in Post-war Calgary towards luxury high-rise living (Symbolic Value – City Wide Significance).

Rideau Towers is also valued as a landmark due to its iconic International-style design and highly visible positioning perched on the Elbow River escarpment with views of the towers from downtown Calgary (Landmark Value – City Wide Significance).
