The Lang House possesses person value for its strong associations with its designer, builder, owner and long-time resident, George Macdonald Lang (1860-1930), an eminent Western Canadian pioneer architect and engineer. Born and trained in Canada, Lang was one of the first registered architects to practice in Calgary. The House is a rare example of a Pre-War home designed by a significant Calgary architect of the same period for his personal residence. (Person Value, City-wide Significance)
